Troy, NY – The Sage Colleges are proud to honor our veterans and active military for their commitment and service to our country. The Sage community will gather throughout the week to reflect and pay tribute to the sacrifice of all who have served in uniform and their families.
Commemorative Flag Ceremony

Commemorative flags made by community members to honor our military men and women will be on display during this evening of remembrance, music and celebration.
Walk with local veterans on Veterans Day

Monument Square, Troy campus
The Sage Community is invited to walk with veterans at 9:00 am, Friday, November 11 starting at Monument Square. A wreath is placed at several war memorials during the walk.
Reading of the Names

The Reading of the Names honors the fallen U.S. soldiers who have lost their lives in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. As of November 8, 2011, at least 4,483 members of the U.S. military have died in the Iraq war since it began in March, 2003. In Afghanistan, 1,704 service members have lost their lives since late 2001.

Send a message of appreciation to the men and women spending this holiday season away from home. This event is sponsored by the not-for-profit organization Operation Soaring Eagle and is a wonderful way to deliver holiday cheer to our troops.
The Second Front
Schacht Fine Arts Center, Troy campus
Reception: Wednesday, November 9, 5-7 p.m.
A forensic-style exhibition with a documentary film component that relates the stories of combat veterans committed to exposing the second front — the internal battle with combat trauma that manifests as erratic and impaired driving on American roads.
