Achieve Degree Program to Offer Initial Trial Course, Admit First Cohort for Fall 2012
The creators of the Achieve Degree at Sage recognize that the college decision is a big step for any student --- but especially for students with autism spectrum disorders or other learning differences. For these students and families, the idea of attending college can be challenging, even overwhelming. It takes a great deal of time to consider the possibility, find a program that is the right fit, and plan how to participate in a college program.
To that end, Sage is offering an eight-week online trial course in March-April 2012 and again in July-August 2012. The 1-credit Life Laboratory course, Online Learning & Time Management, will provide students interested in the Achieve Degree with a full trial of the program’s learning modalities and support services while they complete a required course toward the bachelor’s degree.
Life Lab 101L is being offered free of charge for these first two sessions only, in exchange for feedback on the experience. Registration is limited to 15 spots per session. If you or a student you know is interested in participating, contact Wendy Diefendorf, Achieve Degree admission director, at (518) 292-8615 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The first cohort of Achieve Degree students will now be admitted for the Fall 2012 term, with the first session beginning September 4, 2012. The application deadline is May 1, 2012. The free application can be completed online. Students can also apply for a January 2013 program start.
