Troy, NY – The Sage Colleges Counseling and Community Psychology program has been approved to offer Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor Training (CASAC-T) by the New York State Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services.

This important credential creates opportunity for counselors seeking work in the alcohol and substance abuse treatment field. Students and graduates will have an easier time securing internships and jobs. In order to be eligible, students will need to meet the educational CASAC-T requirements, pass a statewide exam and log 6,000 hours of work experience. A master's degree will substitute 4,000 of the required 6,000 hours.
