Sage President Susan C. Scrimshaw to Participate in Public Health Webinar

TROY, NY – President of The Sage Colleges Susan C. Scrimshaw will participate in a webinar entitled “Accelerating a Social Determinants Model to Build Our Health Ecosystem.” The webinar is sponsored by the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPPH) and will take place today, November 13, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Nirav R. Shah, health commissioner of New York State will join President Scrimshaw as a panelist. Donna J. Petersen, dean of the College of Public Health, professor of global health, and interim vice president of USF Health at the University of South Florida will serve as moderator of the discussion.

ASPPH, through the Framing the Future Task Force, hosts a series of Thought Leaders in Public Health Webinars. Each webinar includes presentations by thought leaders around critical issues in public health education, research, or practice.  The purpose of the series is to stimulate a national conversation on the role of education for public health and its connection with other professions and sectors as well as the larger health system, in support of evidence-based practices.
