Sage to Host Juried Show of High School Artwork in the Capital Region

Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges is pleased to host the 2014 High School Regional art exhibit at the Opalka Gallery on its Sage College of Albany campus, March 17 through April 20.

The exhibition will feature the artwork of talented young artists in grades 9 through 12 from Albany, Schenectady and Rensselaer counties. Twenty-two high schools are participating in the show.

The panel of jurors includes Sage Art and Design faculty members Kelly Jones and Harold Lohner.

A reception, which is part of First Friday Albany, will be held on April 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. Artist Mike Glier, professor of art at Williams College, will be the guest speaker. Awards will be presented at 7 p.m.

Opalka Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. For more information visit sage.edu/opalka.
