San Francisco foodist & Summer Tomato creator Darya Rose to speak at Sage

TROY, NY – The Sage Colleges is pleased to welcome Darya Rose to the Troy campus on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 7 p.m. Rose, who describes herself as a neuroscience “PhDork”, food and health writer, and proud San Francisco foodist, will deliver Sage’s 2014 Nutrition Lecture presented by CDPHP, entitled “Becoming a Foodist.”

Rose, accomplished author of Foodist: Using Real Food and Real Science to Lose Weight Without Dieting, will share a life-changing approach to healthy eating that breaks the cycle of restrictive dieting and teaches individuals how to make lifelong, healthy decisions. Her mission is to help people discover lasting weight loss through the love of food and the fundamentals of science.

Rose is also the creator of Summer Tomato, which was named one of Time Magazine’s 50 Best Websites in 2011. She holds a doctorate in neuroscience from the University of California-San Francisco and a bachelor’s in molecular and cell biology from the University of California-Berkeley.

WNYT NewsChannel 13 anchor Jessica Layton will serve as emcee. The lecture will take place in Schacht Fine Arts Center at the corner of Division and River Streets, and is free and open to the public. Rose will host a book signing after the lecture.

Rose will be available to speak with media at the conclusion of her talk.
