The Sage Colleges will kick off National Poetry Month on Wednesday, April 1 at 1 p.m. with its annual “Wild Women of Poetry” event. Presented by Sage’s Medusa Poets and Writers Club, the hour long program will feature powerful student poetry readings.

The Sage Colleges welcomes 2015 New York State Teacher of the Year Charles Giglio to its Russell Sage campus on Tuesday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. Giglio’s lecture “Teaching Teachers’ Teachers!” is part of its 5th annual Esteves School of Education Spring Speaker Series.

Students in the Interior Design program at The Sage Colleges are participating in their first CANstruction competition. CANstruction is a non-profit organization in which teams of architects, engineers, contractors, designers and students compete to create giant structures made entirely out of canned food. After the event all food is donated to local food banks. This is the 5th year of the Capital Region CANstruction competition. This year’s theme is “HEROES: Fighting Hunger One Can at Time.” Fourteen teams will compete in the event which features the best and brightest of the building industry.

TROY, NY – The Sage Colleges will host a staged reading of “Beast on the Moon” on Thursday, March 26 and Thursday, March 27, 2015. Both performances begin at 7 p.m. in Meader Little Theater on the Russell Sage campus in Troy.

Steven Leibo, Ph.D., professor of modern international history and politics at The Sage Colleges will lead a talk about the Islamic State and the New Middle East on Wednesday, March 25 from 1 to 2 p.m. on the Russell Sage campus in Troy.

The Sage Colleges will begin offering a Master of Business Administration program at the Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) TEC-SMART facility in Malta in the fall of 2015. Classes will be offered in an accelerated format – two classes one night a week –evenings from 6 to 10 p.m. The fall 2015 classes will include “Management of Change and Innovation” and “Human Resource Management.”

Kansas City, MO–The greatest honor for The Sage Colleges’ men’s basketball team was awarded today as the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) announced the 2014-2015 Division III All-America Team. Senior forward and team tri-captain, Kai Deans (Miami, FL/Monsignor Pace) became the first Sage men’s player recognized by the NABC as he was named to the NABC All-America Third Team for his outstanding play this season.
Deans becomes the first Sage student-athlete ever honored with an All-America citation.

The Academy for Character Education at The Sage Colleges will hold its Spring Expo on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Bush Memorial Center on the Troy campus. The workshops are designed to provide helpful resources for K-12 educators and education students. The cost is $59 for educators and $25 for students and includes handouts and a light supper.
