Steven Leibo, Ph.D., professor of modern international history and politics at The Sage Colleges will speak about how the climate crisis is likely to impact America’s Northeastern states and how local communities are already starting to face the challenge. Although the warming of the globe, a phenomenon largely caused by humanity’s prolific burning of fossil fuels has impacted the entire planet, it is playing out differently in different regions. The WORLD Series lecture will take place on Wednesday, October 29 at 1 p.m. in Bush Memorial on the Russell Sage campus in Troy.

Albany, NY – The Opalka Gallery on the Sage College of Albany campus is pleased to present “Meander, because you can’t see much while marching / Mike Glier, a 35-Year Survey.” The first retrospective of Mike Glier’s art, the exhibition will feature works spanning his long, wide-ranging career. The exhibition runs from October 21 to December 21, and will include an artist’s lecture, on Friday, October 24, at 7 p.m., as well as a reception on November 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition, lecture, and reception are free and open to the public.

ALBANY, NY - The Sage Colleges will host the first in its series of four "think tank" creativity workshops for the general public on Monday, October 6 at 7 p.m. Joanne Curran, dean of Sage College of Albany, will lead the “i.Think Tank” sessions based on a model of creative thinking fostered by Alex Osborn, the advertising executive who coined the term "brainstorming." The sessions will offer professional development exercises and the opportunity to learn and practice effective problem solving strategies. Participants will work with Sage faculty and students to develop potential solutions to problems of their choice. This public outreach builds on the series of Innovative Thinking (i.Think ®) courses Sage College of Albany offers as its general education core curriculum.
