Health care today is more hands on than ever before - and what students are laying their hands on has changed, as well. High-fidelity medical simulation training uses lifelike mannikins that can demonstrate realistic signs and symptoms, including heart and breath sounds, blood pressure, abdominal sounds, pulses and even eye dilation.
Though simulation learning is not new at Sage, a recent collaboration with the Hudson Simulation Services has upgraded Sage's resources in a dramatic and useful way: Students can now work in a dedicated simulation lab, which recreates a hospital space and features the most sophisticated health-care mannikins.
Simulation takes health care learning to the next level, allowing students to work through realistic crisis situations, as well as providing students with opportunities to conduct important nursing research.
The future of health care depends on such a comprehensive educational focus, and Sage is the leading the way.
