NCR 500: Initial Moodle Training: Part 1
This workshop includes setting up a Moodle course, Glossary, working with forums and assignments, using the Gradebook, setting up web meetings, using Skype to communicate with individuals and groups, and making video presentations.
NCR 502: Best Practices for Online Classrooms
Best Practices provides a foundation for developing online courses and using multimedia pedagogically. Units include creating a community of inquiry in an online environment, elements of an online learning module, and effective use of multimedia and hypermedia. This workshop is the second course in the sequence of required classes; it should be taken after NCR-500, Initial Moodle Training unless the registrant has substantial experience with online instruction in the Moodle platform, including use of forums, screencasts, quizzes, wikis and journals. NCR 503: Integrating and Developing Multimedia
This workshop is designed for those who have completed NCR 502. It covers photo and video editing, podcasting, animation and various interactive, presentation and communication tools. Offered fully online.
NCR 506: Practicum in Online Instruction
Faculty members eligible to enroll in this class are those who have previously taught an online or hybrid course and who wish to use that course as a learning platform to develop new skills, learn new applications and enhance the online learning experience. Offered fully online.
