Types of Financial Aid

Endowed scholarships

These scholarships will be applied to the student's account after Sage's Office of Donor Relations has received the appropriate acknowledgment.

New York State aid

(TAP, Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship, Award for Academic Excellence etc.) are posted to the account approximately six (6) weeks into the semester after all eligibility requirements are verified.

Federal grant money

(i.e. PELL, SEOG) is posted to the account after the semester begins and enrollment is certified.

The Federal Perkins Loan

This loan is disbursed once the student has met with the Student Loan Coordinator and signed the required promissory note. Students will be contacted by the coordinator shortly after classes begin in September.

Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans

Stafford loans are disbursed, if all financial aid requirements have been met, after the semester begins and applied directly to a student's account.

Outside Scholarships

If the student has been awarded an outside scholarship (i.e. Kiwanis, Elks, high school award) and documentation has been provided, a deduction of the scholarship amount is allowable. This pertains only to scholarships intended to be applied to a students account.
