Instructions for Forensic Mental Health Students

Welcome to The Sage Colleges Forensic Mental Health program!

This page has been designed to help ease the registration process with Albany Law School. Here you will find all the information you need to apply for Financial Aid, Register, obtain your ID cards as well as contact information for both The Sage Colleges and Albany Law School in regards to your specific needs. Please note the certification program does not qualify for Federal Financial Aid.

As you prepare to take classes at Albany Law School you will need the following forms.

At the beginning of the Registration period meet with your Sage advisor and fill out the above forms for each semester you plan on attending classes at Albany Law School.

When you go to Albany Law School to register please bring your Sage ID as well as your Albany Law ID. If you do not have an Albany Law ID click here to find out how to obtain one.

Registering:

There are a couple of options to register for classes with The Sage Colleges. You may go to either Student Service office and register in person or go to our online system SageAdvisor.

To register at Albany Law School you will need to bring the Albany Law School Nonmatric Registration Form to the Registrar's Office. Albany Law School Registrar's Office is located on the second floor of the 2000 Building. They are open for student transactions from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Please note from May 29 to July 27 their office is open from 8:30am to 4:00pm. You may contact their office at (518) 445-2330.

You will see your Albany Law School courses on your Sage schedule approximately one week after The Sage Colleges add/drop period.

***While registering for courses at Albany Law School do not forget to get your Financial Aid consortium agreement signed by Albany Law's Financial Aid Office.

Please note: If you are planning to obtain a degree from Albany Law School in the future any courses taken at Albany Law School in regards to The Sage Colleges Forensic Mental Health program will have to be retaken upon admission into any Albany Law School program.

Albany Law School Bill:

Students in the Forensic Mental Health program will take courses at both The Sage Colleges and Albany Law School. A financial aid consortium agreement is required for students applying for or receiving Federal Financial Aid. The agreement states that students in this program will only receive financial aid through The Sage Colleges. Students taking courses at Albany Law School will receive a bill directly from Albany Law. Please note that The Sage Colleges does not pay the bill on behalf of the student. The payment of the bill is the responsibility of the student.

Albany Law School Grades:

At the end of each semester, you will need to request a copy of your transcript from Albany Law School to be sent to The Sage Colleges. This transcript is free of charge. Please use the Sage/ALS transcript request form. You can mail or hand in your transcript request either at Albany Law School's Registrar Office, attention Lindy Gage or at The Sage Colleges Student Service Office, attention Kathy Scoville.

Parking:

It is the responsibility of the student to follow appropriate parking regulations for The Sage Colleges and Albany Law School campuses.

Obtaining Student ID's:

To obtain a student ID through The Sage Colleges you may go to the Public Safety Office on the Troy Campus or The Campus Life Office on the Albany Campus. The Troy Public Safety Office is located on the first floor of the John Paine building. The Albany Campus Life Office is located in the Kahl Campus Center 2nd floor.

Safety:

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with The Sage Colleges and Albany Law Schools public safety offices.

Both Albany Law School and The Sage Colleges have blue light phones on our campuses for your use in an emergency.
