Computer Classrooms and Labs
Computing facilities are available on both the Albany and Troy campuses. The Academic Computing Centers offer several computer-based classrooms as well as open labs which can be utilized by students on a walk-in basis. Faculty can reserve a lab for classroom use by contacting the registrars' office: 292-1787
Students may utilize computing services on either campus. The Academic Computing Centers, Libraries and Residence Halls are networked, making it possible for students to access their personal files from any networked location.
The computer labs and classrooms include the following software: Windows 7, MS Office 2010, MS Outlook, 7Zip, MS Internet Explorer, SYSAT, MS and MS Visual Studio.
Other locations have access to specialized packages used by certain academic programs: SPSS, Adobe PageMaker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Quark XPress, Mathematica and others.
The Academic Computing Center has moved from the second floor of Froman Hall to the Albany Library. Please visit the library webpage for information on hours: http://library.sage.edu/general/hours.html
There is also a Graphics Lab, located in the Graphic Design Building, with Macintosh computers and the latest graphics software.
Additional workstations are also available in the libraries, for access to electronic card catalogs and databases, and in the Academic Support Center and Science Building.
The Academic Computing Center in the basement of the Education Building includes two PC computer classrooms. There is no open lab in this building anymore but students are welcome to use the computer classrooms when there is not a class in progress. The Troy campus library houses 40+ public use computers for open use.
Additional workstations are located in Ricketts Hall, Science Hall. Ackerman Hall, Carriage House and other locations to support individual program needs. The library offers access to electronic catalogs and databases.
