Voice Mail
Log into the system by dialing 4500 or 244-4500 from off-campus.
Enter your 4-digit voicemail extension followed by the # sign
Enter your password followed by the # sign
First-time users:
* Enter your 4-digit voicemail extension
* Enter the default password (the default password is obtained from the Office of Telecommunications)
* Press 1 to record your name
* After recording, press #
* Press # to approve
* You will be required to change your password and will be prompted to enter it twice to confirm.
To Record a Greeting
* Log into your mailbox
* Press 3 from the activity menu
* Press 1 to create a greeting
* Press 1 to record greeting #1
* Press # to approve or *D to delete and begin again
* Press 1 to activate the greeting for all calls
To Retrieve Your Messages
* Log into your mailbox
* Press 2 to get messages
* Press 0 to listen
* Press 23 to rewind
To Act on a Message
* Press *D to delete the message
* Press **U to undelete a deleted message (once you have exited your mailbox you may not undelete a message)
* Press # to save and skip to the next message
To Respond to a Message
* Press 1, then choose from the following:
* Press 0 to call sender
* Press 1 to reply by voice mail
* Press 2 to forward message with comment
* Press 4 to record and address a new message
To Record and Send a Message from Your Mailbox
This feature is used to send a message directly into a mailbox without ringing the extension
To Change Your Password
* Dial into your mailbox
* Press 5 to access options
* Press 4 to change password
* Press # to approve
To Bypass a Greeting
* Press 1 to bypass another users greeting and begin recording your message immediately.
To Re-Record Your Name
* Dial into your mailbox
* Press 5 to access options
* Press 5 to record name
* Press # to approve
Recording:
* Log into you mailbox
* Press 1 from the activity menu
* At the tone, record your message
* Press # to approve or *D to delete and begin again
Addressing:
* Enter the recipients voice mail extension and press #
* Repeat for additional recipients, OR
* Press *5 to send to a list of recipients (see following page for instructions on creating mailing lists)
Delivering:
* Press # to deliver immediately OR
* Press 0 to hear a list of options
* Press 1 to make private (the message cannot be forwarded)
* Press 2 to mark your message as priority (the message is placed before any other messages in the recipients mailbox)
* Press 3 to schedule delivery
* Enter delivery time
* Enter A (am) or P (pm)
* Press #
* Enter deliver month and day and press Press #
* Press 4 to file a copy
* Press # to approve delivery
To Administer Multiple Personal Greetings
Multiple greetings may be pre-recorded for future activation.
Recording multiple greetings
* Dial into your mailbox
* Press 3 to access the Administer Personal Greetings menu
* Press 1 to record the greeting
* Press 1-9 to select the greeting number you wish to record
* Press # to approve recording
* To store the greeting for future use, do not press 1 to activate.
Activating a pre-recorded greeting
* Dial into your mailbox
* Press 3 to access the Administer Personal Greetings menu
* Press 3 to activate a greeting
* Enter greeting number, OR
* To listen to a greeting, press 0
* Enter greeting number
* Press 0 to replay
* Press 1 to re-record
* Press *D to delete
* Press # to save
To Create Mailing Lists
* Dial into your mailbox
* Press 5 to administer mailing lists
* Press 1 to create a list, OR
* Press 2 to scan lists, OR
* Press 3 to modify an existing list
* Enter list ID number and # sign (enter 1# to create list #1)
* Press 1 for a private list or Press 2 for a public list
* Enter 4-digit number and # for each extension
* Press # when finished
OTHER COMMANDS
*9 to have the system wait
**6 to look up a number by entering the last name
**9 to exit system
*8 to transfer to another extension
**7 to re-login
While listening to messages
Press 9 to increase speed
Press 8 to decrease speed
Press 4 to increase volume
Press 7 to decrease volume
Press 6 to skip forward
Press 5 to skip backward
Press *6 to skip to next message component
Press *5 to skip to previous message component
