Stacey shifted to college health in September 2011 after a decade of international public health work, which included two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, West Africa and most recently, a year in Haiti. She has a Master's degree in Public Health from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.  Outside of health and wellness promotion, her passions include traveling and yoga.

Donna Barkhuff, MSN, FNP-C
Nurse Practitioner- Albany

Donna is a Family Nurse Practitioner working full time for Sage College Health Services. She received her BSN from Syracuse University, her MSN from Russell Sage College, and her FNP degree from Sage Graduate School in Troy, NY. Donna is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nursing Credentialing Center and is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of NY State. Donna enjoys interacting with students both within the setting of Health Services and in outreach opportunities on campus.

Rose Leah-Gilkes

Rose has worked as an RN for many years with experience in general medicine,  CCU, Neonatal ICU, and school nursing. She graduated from Highland Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester NY. While not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and being at the ocean.

Patrice has been a Nurse Practitioner for over 20 years and has diverse experience in internal medicine, family practice, allergy & asthma and college health.  She has A BSN from Russell Sage College and a MSN from the University of Rochester.  She very much enjoys spending time with her two children, family and friends.  Her interests are music, dance, skiing, reading and ongoing learning.

Maria Cervini
Counseling Intern- Troy 

Maria received her B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders with hopes to pursue a career in Speech-Language Pathology. She worked for four years in a Residential Treatment Center for emotionally disturbed youth, which guided her down the path of mental health counseling. She is finishing her last year of her master’s degree at Sage Graduate School.   Outside of mental health care, her interests include kayaking and traveling.

Courtney Craig

Courtney Craig, LMSW
Mental Health Counselor- Albany & Troy

Courtney graduated from Pennsylvania State University with her bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She then went on to obtain her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the University at Albany and became a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) shortly after. Courtney has worked in a variety of settings including human service agencies with children and adolescents, several area colleges and as a part of a group practice.  Her counseling style varies with each student and is tailored to their particular needs. She most frequently utilizes aspects of solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy but at times will use elements of a psycho-dynamic approach as well. Particular areas of interest include anxiety, depression and grief. In her free time Courtney enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

Trena Harrington

Trena Harrington LCSW-R, CASAC
Mental Health Counselor- Albany

Trena is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  She received her Masters in Social Work from Syracuse University.  In addition, she is a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor.  Her training included a Family Systems Theory approach and she is skilled in a number of short term interventions.  Trena specializes in helping students deal with stress, relationship or roommate situations, depression, anxiety, addiction and many other issues.

Laurie Kline

Laurie holds a Master degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and Bachelor degrees in Social Work and Psychology from Castleton State College.  She has vast experience in working with individuals in grief and loss within a family systems framework and utilizes a number of treatment modalities.  Laurie welcomes students in support of their capacities for personal growth while going through major life transitions.

Nutrition Advice and Guidance

Kate Jennings 

Kate Jennings
Nutrition Graduate Assistant- Albany and Troy

Kate received her B.A. from Marymount Manhattan College in 2007. She has spent over 5 years teaching children with disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has also been involved with Head Start and Early Intervention programs in NYC. Her work with low income families has prompted her to pursue a Graduate degree in Nutrition here at Sage. She hopes to work with children and their families again after completing her degree. Her interests outside of nutrition include, travel, music, and yoga.

She is an RSC Alum class of 2008 with a BA in Psychology and is currently working on her MS in Forensic Mental Health in the Sage Graduate program. Kim King

Kim King
Administrative Assistant- Albany

Kim King has been at The Sage Colleges, Albany Wellness Center since 2005. She has an Associate degree in Executive Secretarial Studies from CCBI in Syracuse, NY.  She came to Sage with several years’ administrative experience in the medical field and has worked with children of all ages.  She enjoys the day-to-day contact with Sage students.  When not at work, she loves spending time with family and friends.
