Stacey Thayer, MPH
Director of Wellness Center- Albany & Troy
Stacey shifted to college health in September 2011 after a decade of international public health work, which included two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, West Africa and most recently, a year in Haiti. She has a Master's degree in Public Health from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Outside of health and wellness promotion, her passions include traveling and yoga.

Donna Barkhuff, MSN, FNP-C
Nurse Practitioner- Albany
Donna is a Family Nurse Practitioner working full time for Sage College Health Services. She received her BSN from Syracuse University, her MSN from Russell Sage College, and her FNP degree from Sage Graduate School in Troy, NY. Donna is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nursing Credentialing Center and is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of NY State. Donna enjoys interacting with students both within the setting of Health Services and in outreach opportunities on campus.
Rose Leahy-Glikes, RN
Registered Nurse- Troy
Rose has worked as an RN for many years with experience in general medicine, CCU, Neonatal ICU, and school nursing. She graduated from Highland Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester NY. While not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and being at the ocean.
Russell Wenacur, MD
Collaborating Physician - Albany and Troy
Dr. Wenacur is a board-certified family physician with a background in sports medicine. He has been involved in college health for over a decade. He also works in private practice serving the Troy community.

Mental Health Practitioners
Courtney Craig, LMSW
Mental Health Counselor- Troy
Courtney graduated from Pennsylvania State University with her bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She then went on to obtain her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the University at Albany and became a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) shortly after. Courtney has worked in a variety of settings including human service agencies with children and adolescents, several area colleges and as a part of a group practice. Her counseling style varies with each student and is tailored to their particular needs. She most frequently utilizes aspects of solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy but at times will use elements of a psycho-dynamic approach as well. Particular areas of interest include anxiety, depression and grief. In her free time Courtney enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
Counseling Intern- Troy
Veneilya graduated from Russell Sage in 2005 with a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice. Her passion to inspire and serve underprivileged populations led her to return to Sage pursing her Master’s degree in Community Counseling and Psychology with a certificate in Forensic Mental Health. In her free time Veneilya enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Trena Harrington LCSW-R, CASAC
Mental Health Counselor- Albany
Trena is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Masters in Social Work from Syracuse University. In addition, she is a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. Her training included a Family Systems Theory approach and she is skilled in a number of short term interventions. Trena specializes in helping students deal with stress, relationship or roommate situations, depression, anxiety, addiction and many other issues.
Laurie Kline, LCSW
Mental Health Counselor- Troy
Laurie holds a Master degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and Bachelor degrees in Social Work and Psychology from Castleton State College. She has vast experience in working with individuals in grief and loss within a family systems framework and utilizes a number of treatment modalities. Laurie welcomes students in support of their capacities for personal growth while going through major life transitions.
Counseling Intern- Albany
Shannon Moller-Fortran is currently an intern and advanced graduate student at Sage Graduate College, pursuing a degree in Community and Counseling Psychology, leading to a licensure as a Mental Health Counselor. Shannon's academic research and experience has enhanced her interest in working with anxiety, depression and transitional periods. Her preferred modality of treatment is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In her free time Shannon enjoys spending time with family and cooking.

Nutrition Advice and Guidance
Erica is currently a graduate at The Sage Colleges, pursuing a Masters’ degree in Applied Nutrition. Erica received a BS in health promotion from Liberty University and is a Certified Health Education Specialist. She has counseled people from all ages and backgrounds on different nutrition and wellness topics; and particularly enjoys helping students create a personalized wellness plan that is realistic and works for them. Outside of nutrition counseling Erica enjoys adventure sports and a good cup of coffee.
Administrative Assistant - Troy
Nancy has worked at Sage since 2009- most recently for the Esteves School of Education and joined our team in November 2014. Nancy is a former business owner, fluent french speaker, and loves working at Sage. When she is not working, she likes to spend time with her daughters and travel.
Administrative Assistant- Albany
Kim King has been at The Sage Colleges, Albany Wellness Center since 2005. She has an Associate degree in Executive Secretarial Studies from CCBI in Syracuse, NY. She came to Sage with several years’ administrative experience in the medical field and has worked with children of all ages. She enjoys the day-to-day contact with Sage students. When not at work, she loves spending time with family and friends.
