The Dean's Book Club
This student club meets every other week in Wool House to talk about a book that the group has chosen (and sometimes to make merciless fun of the person who suggested the book!). All students, staff, and faculty are invited to join; you don't have to read all the books--but we do our best and we have a lot of fun. For more information, contact Melissa McConvillle at mcconm@sage.edu.
Some Books We Read During the 2007-08 Academic Year:
- Snow, by Orhan Pamuk
- The Constant Princess, by Philippa Gregory
- Special Topics in Calamity Physics, by Marisha Pessl
- Poor Things, by Alasdair Gray
- In Cold Pursuit, by Sarah Andrews
- The Mona Lisa Stratagem, by Harriet Rubin
- The Princessa, by Harriet Rubin
Our first book of the current school year is March, by Geraldine Brooks--the novel our First-Year Students read over the summer. It tells the story of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women from the father's point of view.
