Russell Sage College offers 31 majors, and many options within those programs to provide a tailored education. Whatever program you choose, you will be prepared for a career or for graduate or professional school. And if you're not ready to choose a major yet, we have a program for undecided students to support your educational career until you are.

A Russell Sage education is based on a solid foundation of liberal arts and sciences, while remaining competitive in today's world. Russell Sage's unique General Education component focuses on the experiences of women as learners and doers in a multicultural society, while Special Programs provide students of every type with opportunities to do more - from advanced high schoolers to college students who excel in the classroom and who want to accelerate into the working world.

Sage is always developing new degree programs and updating existing programs to keep them contemporary. Some of Sage's programs are the only ones of their kind in the Capital Region - or even the country. Other programs offer special opportunities to link to graduate degree programs at Sage Graduate School or elsewhere.

A Sage education is top-notch:

  • Russell Sage is one of only seven colleges in New York State with an education program accredited by the National Collegiate Association of Teacher Educators (NCATE).
  • RSC's major in Forensic Science is one of the only such programs in the Capital Region, and together with the Criminal Justice program, is enhanced by the special relationship that Sage faculty have with scientists at the New York State Police Forensics laboratory in Albany.
  • Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop and Sage's Woodrow Wilson Fellow in 2003, has personally endorsed RSC's unique major in Business and Organizational Management with a focus on social responsibility.
  • Russell Sage's new bachelor's program in Health Science is an ideal link to Sage Graduate School's programs in Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy
