Biology
What can you do with a degree in Biology?
You can prepare for
- MD/DO, VET, or PA school: Biology Premedical Studies
- Graduate School to become a scientist or professor
- the Doctorate in Physical Therapy program
- the Masters in Occupational Therapy program
- the MAT Biology to teach high school biology
- Childhood Education to teach K-6 specializing in Life Science
Careful planning with your adviser, a Biology faculty member, prepares you for an exciting and successful future!

Typically in your third year you will take BIO 358 Pro-Seminar and BIO 359 Research Methods. In these courses you learn to design experiments, interpret results, and write research proposals. You also learn to give presentations.
In your final year (yippee!) you complete a two-semester senior project and present your work at the annual Senior Research Symposium. Some students present their work at a regional or national meeting (our students go to NCUR and Sigma Xi conferences). Or, perhaps, you will publish a paper with your faculty supervisor.
You might qualify to complete an internship in a research laboratory or hospital. These experiences will help you get into graduate and professional programs or get jobs (Check out our alumnae!).
