Q: What is the application fee?

There is no application fee for online applications. Apply online at Apply Online Now!

The Sage Colleges also accepts the Common Application: Apply online using the Common App Now!

 

Q:  What are the requirements to complete an application for the Undergraduate Nursing Program?                   

First-year students must submit:

  • An application Apply Online Now! or Apply Online Using the Common App Now!
  • Official High School Transcript A strong academic curriculum is required for admission to Sage. Honors and AP coursework's recommended. Please note that the Nursing, Program requires a 3.0 GPA. Please contact the Office of Admission for more information. For home schooled candidates, a record of secondary level IHIPS, including an assessment from the home educator, should be submitted.
  • A personal essay Any topic that will provide insight into your personality, traits, or overall background. The goal of the personal essay is for Sage to learn about you in a more subjective manner than provided for by other requirements submitted in the application process. No matter what you choose for your topic, be sure that your essay tells us more about you.
  • Guidance Counselor & Teacher Recommendations Students who have taken Advanced Placement  or International Baccalaureate courses can click here  for Russell Sage College and here for Sage College of Albany to see the test score requirements and course equivalents. 

Transfer students must submit:

  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended
  • A personal essay Any topic that will provide insight into your personality, traits, or overall background.   • Advisor or Faculty Recommendation
  • Copy of RN license Sage College of Albany RN to BS program applicants ONLY 

The Sage College of Albany offers a program through School of Professional and Continuing Education for students who already possess a R.N. degree and seek to complete a B.S. in Nursing. Please note: qualified applicants for the evening program are required to have earned a R.N. degree in order to be eligible for this program.

 

Q: What is the deadline for Undergraduate Nursing Program applications?

Q:  Do you require the “TEAS” test?  

No, The Sage Colleges does not require the TEAS test an entrance exam requirement.

Q:  Which colleges do you accept transfer credits from?

The Sage Colleges have developed a number of agreements with community colleges and other universities to allow you to transfer entire programs of study to Sage.

 

Q:  I have a Bachelor’s degree in another field – why am I not considered a Graduate Student? I currently possess an undergraduate degree in a different area of study.

You will need to complete a baccalaureate degree program in Nursing for licensure as an RN.

 

Q:  Which courses/prerequisites are required to apply for the Transfer Admissions (other BS degree to Nursing BS RN program)?  

In addition to liberal arts and general education requirements, the following support courses are also required:  BIO 213 or BIO 201 and BIO 202, SOCIOLOGY 101 or ANTHROPOLOGY 101, PSY 208.

 

Q:  I have already completed Physiology I & II or Micro Biology course - do I have to retake these courses at Sage for the Nursing Program?   

Transcripts will be evaluated for equivalency and transfer credit of Sage College coursework.

 

Q:  How quickly can I receive my RN BS degree if I have a Bachelor’s degree in another field?

IF all general education and liberal arts requirements are met, five semesters of study are needed. 

  • One of these semesters is a summer term = Two Calendar Years or 24 months
  • IF a student (must have prior Baccalaureate degree) begins study in the Summer term = 18 months
