Internships & Practicums
Get the advantage
Internships and other on-site placements provide students with a valuable advantage: real-world, hands-on experience.
The entire Capital Region - including Troy and New York's state capital of Albany -- is rich in history, culture, science, medicine, law and technology. It is home to many hospitals, research labs, public and private agencies, museums, and theaters - all of which make exciting internship sites.
Internships, practica, clinicals, field experiences, and student teaching allow students to apply research and theory in action. While many students are required to complete internships/practica for their major, all students are encouraged to pursue such opportunities.
Contact the Office of Career Services for help getting started. Choose between credit and non-credit internships and browse lists of available internships. The staff will help you through the process, and even critique your resume and cover letter.
