Early College Students

Admission

In considering your application, we'll look at every thing you have achieved: your academic record, your co-curricular successes, motivation, creativity, and goals. A small group of academically advanced Women will be selected for this program. Students in high school will be expected to have attained at least a 90 average in a college preparatory program and a minimum of 1100 on the SAT exam and be in the top 20% of their junior class.

Recommended Courses

A minimum of 16 high-school units are recommended; 4 English, 4 social studies, 3 natural sciences, 3 mathematics, and 3 foreign language. Specific course work is required for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Forensic Science and Athletic Training. Application Procedures

Please submit the following:

  • A completed application form - Apply On Line or download an application form [pdf].
  • A $30 non-refundable application fee
  • The Secondary School Report, along with an official transcript (and/or General Equivalency Scores) which includes courses currently in progress For home schooled candidates- a record of secondary level IHIPS, including an assessment from the home educator.
  • Scores from either the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I), or the College Entrance Examination Board or the American College Test (ACT). Students are encouraged to submit the results of any SAT II exams. Students may waive the SAT or ACT requirements, if they rank in the top 20% of their junior class.
    Please Note: If a student is applying to the accelerated Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy program, any accelerated degree programs with Sage Graduate School, Rensselaer or Albany Law School, SAT or ACTs cannot be waived.
  • One personal statement
  • One personal recommendation from a 11th- or 12-grade teacher (Home-schooled students may submit one personal recommendation fro an adult with whom the student has interacted through individualized study, an internship, or similar activities)
  • For Theatre/Musical Theatre and Creative Arts In Therapy Students Only: Audition or Portfolio Review

Admission Plans for Early College Students

Highly qualified high school juniors or seniors can complete high school graduation requirements while beginning college study. An application, all supporting materials (outlined above) should be submitted by March 15. An interview with the Director of Admission or Associate Director of Admission is also required. Students will be notified of their status on a rolling basis.
