Southern CT Chapter Fall Luncheon at the Red Barn in
Westport, CT--12:00 p.m.

October 23, 2010

Fall is the perfect time to take a picturesque tour of The Berkshires, especially the Stockbridge and Lenox areas. Join us as we begin our travels at the summerhome of Russell Sage alum, Julie Wiebel Agar '59 where you'll enjoy a continental breakfast alongside the breathtaking Stockbridge Bowl. Following breakfast, Julie will take us on a guided tour of the Stockbridge/Lenox area, highlighting some of the more famous "summer cottages" built by wealthy industrialists during the Guilded Age.

Our day would not be complete without a tour and lunch at Ventfort Hall, an imposing Jacobean Revival-style mansion built in 1893 for Sarah Morgan, the sister of J. P. Morgan. Ventfort Hall is the home of The Museum of the Gilded Age. Ventfort Hall was one of the approximately seventy-five so-called Cottages built in Lenox in the last century when the village became a popular Gilded Age resort.

Bus departs from the Troy campus Saturday, October 23rd at 9:00 a.m.
