What is GE²M^CS

The GE²M^CS program is aimed at increasing the number of girls and women studying and entering technical careers in engineering, mathematics, and computer science. It consists of day-long programs involving hands-on workshops for middle and high school students. There is also a student and professional career panel , followed by a campus tour. GE²M^CS is designed for students as well as teachers and guidance counselors.

It All Adds Up

While the GEMS program's primary goal is to excite girls and young women about technically related fields, the program's secondary goal is to raise the awareness of teachers, guidance counselors, and parents of the study and career options available for their daughters, so that they can better facilitate those opportunities. This program series will be repeated over the course of five years to successfully track student outcomes and build greater exposure for these opportunities for students.
