Parking Information

First year residents are allowed to have a car on campus. Students can pick up parking stickers during check-in at the Public Safety Office for a nominal fee. Don't forget to bring your car registration and plate number to secure the sticker.

May we suggest bringing these items to campus?

  • Sheets, blanket, pillow and comforter (Most beds are standard twin size)
  • Towels and toiletries
  • Draperies and curtains (Tension rods are suggested; curtain rods are not supplied)
  • Rug (6'x9' or 9'x12' will fit most rooms)
  • Laundry detergent
  • Quarters (coin washer/dryers are available in the residence hall)
  • Mug or cup
  • Fork/ spoon/ knife
  • Power/surge strips (Multi-prong outlets are not permitted)
  • Hair dryer
  • Alarm clock
  • Stereo
  • Television
  • Computer and printer
  • Study lamp (not to exceed 100 watts)
  • Room decorations, posters or plants
  • Telephone (Answering machines are not necessary because each phone line is equipped with voicemail)

Health and Wellness Services

The Wellness Center is located on the first floor of Kellas Hall. The Center houses Health Services, Counseling Services and the Rape Crisis Satellite program. The purpose of this alliance is to assist students in reaching an optimal level of health. All full-time resident and commuting Russell Sage students may use the Wellness Center services free of charge with the exception of lab fees and prescriptions. All students must have some form of health insurance.

Counseling Services provides individual, couples, group and family therapy on a short-term basis depending on one's needs.

Student Health Services provides treatment for acute injury, blood pressure and cholesterol screening, nutrition counseling, diagnostic testing, immunizations, health information and literature and referral. In addition, the gynecology clinic offers a complete examination, pap smear, pregnancy tests, screening and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, contraceptive and pregnancy counseling.

Mail Delivery

The Office of College Services and the campus mailroom are located in the basement of John Paine Hall. This is where all mailboxes for full-time undergraduate resident and commuting students can be found. The majority of campus mail will be sent to this box, not your home address. All U.S. mail and packages are delivered here. Hours are as follows:

Campus Cruiser and Computing

Campus Cruiser offers an email component that is a web-based graphical interface. This allows our system to be accessed from anywhere at anytime! The information sharing, calendars, news and announcements offer exciting tools for enhancing student life.

All Sage residence halls are wired for access to SageNet, the college's campus-wide computer network. Resident students can access email and the web from their residence hall room.

Computer Center

Telephone Service

Each residence hall room has two technology ports to provide touch-tone telephone, cable television and Internet access. It will be necessary for you, or your roommate, to bring your own touch-tone telephone with you. There are no charges for installation, local calls, "800" calls, call-waiting or monthly charges for local service. Students will need to arrange their own long-distance service. Major calling cards are also compatible.

Cable TV Service

Each residence hall room is equipped with two cable TV jacks. Basic cable service is provided to each student and expanded service can be arranged through Time Warner Cable at a cost to the individual student. Cords must be purchased independently. Bed Configurations

Raised The standard bed configuration. Can be raised up to 2' off the floor for storage of plastic bins underneath.

Bunked One bed placed directly on top of another bed. Can be raised, but will depend on the height of the student in the bottom bed (to allow for head room when seated).

Lofted One bed raised into the air with support poles. Can be raised between 5 and 6 off the ground. Allows a student desk with bookcase and dresser to fit underneath resulting in more space in the room.

Bookstore

The Troy Campus Bookstore, MOSS Books and Other Provisions, is located at the corner of Second and Congress Streets. Students may purchase books, notebooks, pens, markers and other school supplies. In addition, the bookstore offers snacks and College clothing.

Saturday & Sunday 8:00am-2:00 pm
