Admission Procedures

Please call (518) 292-8615 or email sageafterwork@sage.edu to schedule a one-on-one consultation with a Sage After Work admission representative.

Criteria

Students are admitted to Sage After Work after an evaluation of the appropriateness and amount of transferable credit and work experiences. It is required that applicants have 40 completed college-level credits in good academic standing in order to be accepted into the Sage After Work program.

Deadlines

Sage College of Albany offers rolling admission with start terms in Fall, Spring and Summer. However, for some SAW majors it is recommended that students begin with the fall term. In general, application is encouraged well in advance to the start of each term, so that there is ample time for transfer credit evaluations and financial aid packaging.

How to Apply

Apply to a Sage After Work Degree Program in a variety of ways:

Students must submit:

  • A completed Application for Admission with a non-refundable processing fee of $30.
  • An official transcript from EACH post-secondary institution attended since high school.
  • A 1-2 page career goals essay
  • A copy of a valid nursing license (RN) should be provided by applicants to the Nursing Program.

International students must submit additional information including WES transcript in order to be admitted.

Admission Decisions

Students can expect to receive an admission decision within 2 weeks after their admission file is considered complete.

Matriculation Policy

Students who have completed the admission process and gained acceptance to an undergraduate degree or certificate program will be classified as a matriculated student and are eligible for financial aid and will be assigned a faculty advisor.

Students attending for the first time may take up to 9 credits without applying for admission to the College. To enroll for additional credits without formally applying to the College, students must declare Visiting-Student Status.

Visiting-Student Status (Non-Matriculation)

Visiting students are those who do not intend to earn a certificate or degree from Sage. They are not eligible for financial aid and are not assigned an academic advisor. Note: credits accumulated as a visiting student may not count toward a certificate or degree program.

Re-Enrollment/Re-Admittance

Matriculated SAW students who have been away from The Sage Colleges (leave of absence, withdrawal or suspension) for two or more years, should contact the Sage After Work Office of Admission to confirm what return procedures and policies apply. A readmission application and interview may be required. If any post-secondary institutions (college, university, technical, proprietary school, etc.) were attended while away from The Sage Colleges, official transcripts must be forwarded to the Office of Admission.
