Message from the Dean
Kevin R. Stoner
Dean of Sage College of Albany
Sage College of Albany is a place of excitement and vitality, where compelling, powerful and technology-enriched degree programs are available, where cutting-edge new programs are regularly being designed and implemented, where well qualified professors and staff are eager to help students realize their personal and career goals, and where we are all dedicated to providing the best facilities and the friendliest and most productive academic and social environment. There’s no doubt about it. Just walk around this beautiful campus and you’ll sense it. SCA knows what it’s doing; just tell us where you want to go with your career and your life, and we can help you get there.
Sage College of Albany knows you want an education that prepares you to enjoy a high quality of life and also prepares you for rewarding work that brings you personal and professional satisfaction. We’re focused on your success! SCA aims to graduate students who are confident in their knowledge and skills, highly competitive in the job market, and fully prepared to be productive and respected citizens of the world in this complex, technology dependent, and rapidly changing new century.
Take a look at the range of interesting Associate and Bachelor degrees that SCA offers. They’re not only in disciplines which are in great demand, but we’ve designed pathways that link the Associate degree to the Bachelor degree programs so that you can graduate with both associate and bachelor's degrees and, as a result, be doubly attractive to employers. And by taking courses through the summer, you an accelerate your program of study, finishing your degree and more quickly starting your career or pursuing a graduate degree. After receipt of the associate degree, if you so choose, you can use that qualification to get a good full-time job and still continue progress toward the bachelor's degree through SCA’s Sage After Work program, which serves working adults by offering flexible programs in the evening, on weekends, and on-line.
Take a look at the facilities: the up-to-date computer and science laboratories, the superb art and design studios, the impressive library, the attractive and rapidly expanding student residences, the beautiful student center and cafeteria, and the incredible Opalka Art Gallery. Take a look, too, at the location -- right in the University Heights area of Albany, with its many institutions of higher education and all the excitement and advantages that accrue from such a concentration. And don’t forget that SCA is one of three Sage Colleges located in Albany and Troy, each uniquely specialized, but all working together, pooling their resources and sharing their extraordinary faculty, to provide all their students an exciting array of opportunities and an outstanding educational experience.
We will welcome you to Sage College of Albany, and we look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you might have about us and about the opportunities we offer. The Admissions Office is eager to be contacted by interested prospective students, and I too am available to answer any questions you might have.
Sincerely,
Kevin R. Stoner
