Building trust between your tutor and yourself is an important part of this process.  Attempting an assignment or coming with well thought out questions will enable your tutor to help you meet your academic goals and will demonstrate to them your dedication to your studies.  Like a textbook, or the internet, tutorial services are complementary to your lecture. Utilizing alternative study resources, like the Study Resource page before attending a session will maximize your total understanding of the material. Coming to a session prepared is the only way to get the most out of your session. This includes the following: printing and attempting an assignment, coming with a written list of questions, bringing tools such as a pen or textbook or calculator, demonstrating progress that may have been suggested by your tutor from a previous session, and having a positive attitude.
