Fall 2013 New Student Class Schedule Notes

  • New SCA enrolled day freshmen & transfer students (deposited) will be pre-scheduled for required fall 2013 classes on or after June 10, 2013 by the Academic Advising office. 
  • New student classes are selected based on recommendations from the faculty, needed degree requirements and course availability.
  • Schedules will be inputted based on the students' deposit date.
  • Students may request changes to their class schedules at a Summer Advising Day.

Get READY for FALL 2013!
_____ Log-in regularly to your MySage email account: www.mysage.sage.edu
_____ Save bookmark: https://www.sage.edu/sca/
Tip: Use the index (list of links) in Left margin (not tabs at top of page) to navigate SCA College information. The SCA index of links is in the orange box after each link you will see double arrows, >>.
_____ Log-in to SageAdvisor and explore Student Menu options (your on-line academic record).
-Review your academic Program Evaluation report (outline of your degree requirements) available on June 10, 2013.
--View your Major requirements in the Course Catalog
_____ In SageAdvisor, complete financial aid and student loan section in SageSense. Be sure to complete all SageSense tasks
_____ Transfer Credit
Review your transfer credit report in SageAdvisor to be sure AP and all College credits are listed. Are your last term's courses and credits listed?
For courses in progress be sure to send final updated official transcripts to Admission Office - as soon as final course grades are available.
_____ Academic Research
Refer to the Academic Advising Office webpages, lots of great information.

Attend Summer 2013 SCA Academic Advising Day>> Click here for dates. (Attendance is required).
_____ New first time, Freshmen students complete the Compass assessment test by August 29, 2013. (Required).
_____ Accept or decline: college Health Insurance coverage. **An annual fee is automatically charged to all full-time day students, unless, the proper waiver and proof of current health insurance is submitted.

_____ Residence Hall & UHCS students complete & return: housing contract, roommate information survey and meal plan selection forms, (518) 244-2008
_____ Tuition
Pay outstanding tuition bill or "out of pocket" owed amount by tuition due date. Not sure what you owe?  Call Student Services, (518) 292-1781
_____ Research BOOK costs in SageAdvisor using the My Class Schedule link or through the bookstore website.  (approx $400-$500 per term).
_____ Book Money $$
If needed, request financial aid/loan money for Books. Check with Financial Aid Office, 518-292-1781, if you have enough financial aid to cover books and supplies.
_____ Complete required physical & immunization forms - send to Wellness Center
_____ Sign up for, MyCruiserAlert, Sage's emergency alert & snow closing system sent to cellphone
_____ Attend New Student Fall Orientation program, August 22-25, 2013.  Contact Office of Student Life for more information, 518-292-1753.
_____ Log-in to Moodle - Sage's online course system as a test run.  *Also used as a teaching "support" tool for regular classes that meet in the classroom.
_____ View your tuition bill in SageAdvisor using the "Access/Pay Your Account" and "View recent Activity" links.
_____ Complete the Student Life Office Know The Code course online in Moodle (mandatory).
_____ Student ID Card
Obtain Student ID Card (Student Life Office, Kahl Campus Center 145)

_____ Parking Permit
Obtain Parking Permit (Student Services Office, Administration Building).  Fee, vehicle registration card and student ID required.
_____ On Sunday, August 25:  review your fall 2013 schedule on the My Class Schedule link in SageAdvisor (log-in) to be sure you are in the correct number of credits (recommended: 15 credits per term) and for final classroom locations
_____ Fall 2013 classes begin: Monday, August 26, 2013.
Attend ALL first and second class meeting times ~ be sure to be on time or you may lose your spot.
_____ Complete buying all assigned books and art supplies
_____ Contact your Faculty Advisor if you have concerns about your classes or if you wish to make schedule changes.

CLA Assessment Test (required for Freshmen). Two testing sessions available. Starting at 12:45. Froman Hall room 201.
_____ Add/Drop deadline for Fall 2013 is: September 3, 2013 at 11:59pm.  After this date, course withdrawals must be done in person using the Registration Change (add/drop) form.
_____ During the term consult with your faculty advisor and view the Fall 2013 Academic Calendar for important student dates
