This Sage College of Albany honors program initially is open to all freshmen students who complete an application and commit to participate in scholarly activities throughout the academic year. These activities include attending lectures, art openings, films, as well as participating in faculty-led research and service learning activities. Scholars Program participants keep a passport of activities and reflections on their experiences. They meet monthly with the Dean of the College. Scholars are committed to service and members are invited to participate in a spring "break away" project volunteering through Global Volunteers. The scholars will choose the site for the break away project and will raise funds to support the trip.
To continue in the program in the sophomore year, students are required to have earned a GPA of 2.7; to continue in the junior year, students are required to have earned a GPA of 3.0; and to continue in the senior year, students are required to have earned a GPA of 3.2.
Transfer students are welcome to join the program and are asked to complete an application and to meet the GPA requirement equivalent to the number of credits completed prior to admission.
