Heartfelt congratulations to all of you who are graduating this May! To celebrate your extraordinary achievement, we cordially invite your family and friends to attend our Baccalaureate Ceremony and Departmental Awards on Friday, May 11, 2012 beginning at 10:00 AM.

Once again, congratulations, and all of us here look forward to seeing you and
your loved ones at the various festivities celebrating you.

What is the Baccalaureate Ceremony and who should attend?

The Baccalaureate Ceremony is an opportunity for the Sage College of Albany as well as Sage After Work graduates to gather and celebrate their accomplishments! This is also where our endowed awards are presented. The ceremony is always the day before Commencement on the Sage College of Albany campus at 11am. All graduating seniors are invited to attend with their family and friends. This year, the ceremony will be Friday, May 11, in the Kahl Campus Center Gymnasium. A reception immediately follows.

Where and when do the Departmental Awards take place?

The Departmental Awards begin at 10am sharp (and usually last about 30 minutes) in individual classrooms. You should arrive and check in at 9:45am.

Is there a limit on the number of guests?

No, but we do ask that all graduates R.S.V.P to SCADean@sage.edu with the number of guests attending so that accommodations can be made for seating and refreshments.

Do graduates wear regalia for the ceremony?

YES! All graduates are expected to arrive in regalia for the ceremony. For more information about reserving your cap and gown for the Commencement and Baccalaureate Ceremonies, scroll to the bottom of the Commencement page.

Who is eligible for Program Honors?

SCA Students who have attained a high degree of excellence in their work of their respective major subjects, and who have in addition satisfied the requirements prescribed by the departments concerned, are awarded program honors. Note: The GPA requirement for program honors is a GPA in the major of 3.5 based as indicated on the Program Evaluation.

Are Sage After Work students eligible for Program Honors?

YES! A Sage After Work student is eligible for program honors if they have successfully completed a minimum of 7 courses at the upper-level as determined by the faculty in the program and their overall GPA in the major is a 3.5 or higher. 

Are graduates notified in advance if they will be receiving an award?

You should be able to determine your eligibility for program excellence based on your grade point average, but we do not notify graduates in advance. As for our endowed awards, that's a surprise!
