Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Baccalaureate Convocation and who should attend?

The Baccalaureate Convocation is annual event for the Sage College of Albany and SPCE graduates to gather and celebrate their accomplishments with faculty, staff, classmates, family and friends! This is also where the endowed awards are presented.

All graduating SCA & SPCE seniors from August 2012, December 2012 and May 2013 are invited to attend with their family and friends. This year, the ceremony will be Friday, May 17, in the Kahl Campus Center Gymnasium. A reception with refreshments immediately follows.

What time should I be there?

Graduates are expected to arrive in their graduation regalia (cap & gown) promptly at 10:15am in Kahl Campus Center cafeteria for line up.  The ceremony begins at 10:45am (sharp) in the Gymnasium.

Is there a limit on the number of guests?

No, but we do ask that all graduates R.S.V.P to SCABacc@sage.edu with the number of guests attending so that accommodations can be made for seating and refreshments.

Do graduates wear regalia for the ceremony?

YES! All graduates are expected to arrive in regalia for the ceremony. For more information about reserving and purchasing your cap and gown for the Commencement and Baccalaureate Ceremonies, scroll to the bottom of the Commencement page.

Are graduates notified in advance if they will be receiving an award?

We do not notify graduates in advance. It's a surprise!

Who do I contact if I still have questions?

Contact the Office of the Dean: SCABacc@sage.edu,  518.292.1704.
