Our Services

The Academic Support Center, located on the third floor of the library, invites students to take advantage of our tutorial support services. Tutorial support is available to all undergraduate students of The Sage Colleges. Support services include one-on-one tutoring, group tutoring, Student Success Study Skill Workshops, and more.

Our Mission

The mission of the Academic Support Center is to work as a cohesive unit in partnership with the college community to assist students in becoming active, responsible, and successful learners. Our staff members provide diagnostic and supportive services designed to increase student retention and success. We are committed to creating an environment which fosters student development and retention by building collaborative relationships and encouraging the utilization of campus resources.

The Academic Support Center staff is committed to student success here at Sage College - and beyond. You are encouraged to meet with an academic support counselor early in the semester to identify services that will effectively address your needs.

Writing Studio

The Writing Studio located onthe third floor of the library,offers assistance with writing projects in all courses across the curriculum. We offer one-on-one tutoring, small group sessions, and workshops throughout each semester. We can help with writing projects at any stage including:

  • Learning pre-writing strategies to help you start the writing process.
  • Clarifying and refining your ideas and meanings
  • Planning a research project.
  • Planning, drafting, organizing, and revising papers.
  • Identifying problems with grammar, punctuation, and standard written English.

Composition Tutor Hours:

  • Mondays - 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesdays - 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesdays - 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursdays - 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Math Tutoring

Math tutoring located on the third floor of thelibrary, offers both one-on-one tutoring and small group assistance and advice with mathematical strategies and techniques. The math tutor can help in the following areas:

  • Help students identify skill sets needed for the completion of homework assignments and course packets.
  • Discuss textbook readings to identify model problems, key terms, formulas, and more.
  • Assist students with test preparation.

  • Mondays 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Tuesdays 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Wednesdays 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursdays9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Business Connection

The Business Connection offers one-on-one and small group assistance for an array of courses relating to business (i.e., Accounting, Financial Management, Micro/Macro Economics, Math for Finance, Organizational Development, and Human Resource Management). The Business Connection can help with the following:

  • Assist students with completion of homework and group projects.
  • Help students evaluate their skills and develop new ones.


Science Tutors

Offers one-on-one tutoring and group study sessions for General Chemistry 111 and General Biology 101.

General Chemistry 111 Tutoring Hours - 3rd floor of the library

  • Tuesdays 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursdays 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

General Biology 101 Tutoring Hours - Science Study Room in Science Building

  • Tuesdays 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesdays 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Thursdays 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Becoming a Master Student Workshop Series

Becoming a Master Student Workshops are presented to help students increase their fitness as students. These workshops are scheduled during the fall semester.
