ASSESSMENTS

Career Planning helps students with self-assessment though individual counseling and assessment tools, such as, FOCUS, COPS-P inventory, and Myers Briggs Type Indicator. These tools help the counselor work with students to explore their interests, skills and values as they begin to make important decisions about career goals.

• Talk with professionals in the field

3. Decision!

• Evaluate Pros & Cons: educational prep needed, typical work day, hidden job skills, career advancement, satisfaction, etc.
• Jobs available/salary trends
• Decide -- then formulate a personal action plan

4. Job Search

• Identify prospective employers
• Update resume & cover letter
• Practice interviewing
