Orientation FAQs

Is Orientation really required?

Yes. Orientation at Sage is mandatory for all new students. Please inform your work supervisor of this important college event. If traveling a distance, please research transportation options as early as possible. Note: All new students are charged the orientation fee, even if they decide to skip orientation.

Why do I have to attend Orientation?

We have your success in mind. Orientation helps you make the transition to Sage and college life as smooth as possible. There are important procedures, policies, and graduation requirements, you need to know about -- so you can avoid costly mistakes (ie, paying extra tuition!) and bad decisions down the road. Representatives from different departments will be available to talk to you about their services and how they can help you. It is also a great opportunity to have your questions answered by College staff and the Student Mentors.

Do I have to stay the whole time? Is it OK if I am late?

All students must stay for the entire program. Please plan accordingly. Arriving late or leaving early is not a good idea. You will miss out on key information. Knowing that our new students have busy lives, Orientation at Sage is a one day (freshmen) or half-day (transfer) program. Click here for… Orientation program times.

I have to work that day…

Sorry, employment is not an acceptable reason for skipping Orientation. Please inform your supervisor as soon as possible, to not schedule you to work that day. Sage Orientation program dates are set very early. This is to allow students ample time to make arrangements for employment, transportation, child care and long distance travel. We even have the 2009 orientation dates planned!

I have been to campus already, what else is there that I need to know?
