About SGS

The Professional Connection

Since 1949, Sage Graduate School has offered competitive and innovative programs in management, health care, psychology, and education. Our leading-edge academic programs cross many traditional boundaries and differentiate Sage from other colleges and universities regionally and nationally. Sage Graduate School is one of the best values in the Capital Region and its education programs are accredited by the prestigious National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). Every class at Sage Graduate School gives you the opportunity to innovate, and find a new way to apply your knowledge every day. Sage graduates are highly successful and serve in a number of prestigious positions in the area and beyond.

Research Opportunities

Research is integrated into coursework to give you the skills to evaluate pertinent literature and to apply that information in the workplace. Youll also develop skills in research methodology. Most SGS students conduct independent research while others are involved in faculty-sponsored research projects. Our students present their work annually at the Sage Graduate School Research Symposium.

Flexible Scheduling

We offer classes during the day, in the evenings, on the weekends, in one-day-a-week formats, in special institutes, or on-line. We want to make sure our classes are accessible to adults who, like you, have to balance active personal lives with careers and academics.

Practitioner Faculty Who Know & Do

Youre guided through this process by Sage faculty, talented educators who practice what they teach. They are active in their professions, giving you the double benefit of both professional experience and advanced academic training. They know that you want and need the professional skills to get going, keep up and move ahead at times and in ways that make sense for your personal and professional life.

Learning in Action

Sages educational commitment to Learning in Action prepares you both intellectually and practically for an active role in your profession and offers you many opportunities to be engaged in a wider sphere of activity beyond the campus. Sage Graduate School offers highly distinctive degrees of advanced study for recent college graduates and to those already active in their professions.

Practical and Applied Research

Research is an important component of any graduate school program. But at Sage, the focus is on applied research, on finding new ways to apply classroom knowledge and theory to practical situations. It is a process and a culture of change. Sage graduate programs combine cutting-edge theory with practical applications so that you develop the skills you need to change and manage the workplace of tomorrow.
