This research assistant position will assist the Coordinator of Institutional Research and Vice President for Planning and Information Resources with various research projects to support the strategic planning and decision making of the institution. The focus of the projects will vary from semester to semester and year to year and might include compilation of data focusing on admission, academic affairs, enrollment, retention or other areas, depending on institutional need and focus. A high degree of confidentiality is necessary due to the sensitive nature of data elements. The position is on the Albany campus and hours are flexible.
Skills Needed for the Position: MS Word, Excel, WEB Searching-Explorer
Skills Helpful for the Position: Microcomputer Database – Access, Microcomputer Statistics – SPSS
Additional special skills or attributes required for the position: The IR research assistant should possess an interest in and curiosity about data as well as strong attention to detail. Skills utilized in this position will be applicable in a variety of professional situations across many disciplines.
