This graduate assistant position will assist the Administrative Assistant of the library with various office duties to support the library’s strategic planning and decision making activity. The focus of the work will vary from semester to semester and year to year and may include compilation of budget data, filing, answering phones and directing calls. Assisting with special projects, faxing, scanning, and working with related computer-based technologies will also be required and will integrate with other areas depending on the library’s need and focus. A high degree of confidentiality is necessary due to the sensitive nature of some data. The position is on the Troy campus and hours are flexible.
Skills Needed for the Position: MS Word, Excel, Web searching (using Microsoft Explorer)
Skills Helpful for the Position: Microsoft Access – database software
Additional special skills or attributes required for the position: The library graduate assistant should possess an interest in and curiosity about data as well as strong attention to detail. Skills utilized in this position will be applicable in a variety of situations throughout the library.
