The graduate assistant acts as a primary contact with conference clients via telephone and email communication. They assist with the coordination and planning of both student activities and off-campus group events. Duties include scheduling events in Scheduler Plus (scheduling software); processing FUR forms; interfacing with Maintenance, Public Safety, and Food Service staff; providing coverage for special events including audio-visual set-up, running sound systems, and trouble-shooting issues that arise during the event. Helps with set-up and logistics of conference events and supervises facility use while event is in progress. Assists the Director with room set ups, event sign placement, completion of paperwork, and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Skills Needed for the Position: MS Word, Excel Spreadsheets

Additional special skills or attributes required for the position: Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends to cover special events. Flexibility in schedule a plus. Good people skills with the ability to positively represent the college are essential. Must be able to make good decisions under pressure and to physically meet the demands of the job. Punctuality required.
