President Scrimshaw Receives Champion of Public Health Award (March 31, 2016)

President of The Sage Colleges Susan C. Scrimshaw has been awarded the Champion of Public Health Award by the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health (UIC SPH).  She was honored March 31, 2016 during the school’s annual alumni celebration in Chicago. Each year, UIC SPH honors individuals and alumni who have made significant contributions to the field of public health. Since its founding in 1970, the school has been consistently supported by generous benefactors.

President Scrimshaw Presides Over Release of Recent NAM Report (March 9, 2016)

Susan C. Scrimshaw presided over the release of a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (formerly the Institute of Medicine – IOM) report on A Framework for Educating Health Professionals to Address the Social Determinants of Health.  Dr. Scrimshaw, who is Co-Chair of the IOM/NAM’s Global Forum on Innovation in Health Professional Education, is in Washington, D.C. and chaired the discussion and presentation of the findings of the report.

President Scrimshaw Receives Yarmolinsky Medal (October 19, 2015)

Susan C. Scrimshaw was awarded the Adam Yarmolinsky Medal for her service to the National Academy of Medicine, formerly known as the Institute of Medicine (IOM).  She was honored on October 18, 2015 during the National Academy of Medicine’s 45th Anniversary Gala in Washington, D.C.
