Accounting is an essential function in any well-managed organization. From small non-profit organizations to government agencies and large multinational corporations, managing and accounting for financial resources requires professionals with a solid foundation in accounting principles.
Sage’s Accounting program prepares students for a career as a professional accountant, budget analyst, auditor, fiscal analyst or comptroller in the private or public sectors. When students complete the undergraduate accounting curriculum, they are fully qualified for a professional accounting career.
The accounting curriculum is registered with the Division of Professional Education of the New York State Education Department.
B.S. at the Sage College of Albany
The Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at the Sage College of Albany is a full-time four-year program that currently requires some courses to be taken during the day and others at night. Students who enter this program may either do so directly after their secondary education or transfer in. Transfer would typically be done after completing an associate’s degree obtained elsewhere. A Sage academic advisor will describe alternatives for completing the necessary curriculum.
B.S. at the School of Professional and Continuing Education
The Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in the School of Professional and Continuing Education is a completer program. Students who enter this program have already done some college-level work, typically 45-60 credits, and are prepared to pursue a Bachelor’s degree. Required introductory level courses will normally have been completed and transferred from a previous school. When that is not the case, a Sage academic advisor will describe alternatives for completing these courses.
B.S. at Russell Sage Online
The School of Management is proud to offer a Bachelor of Science in Accounting fully online through Russell Sage Online. The BS in Accounting is a degree-completion program, fully accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education. It prepares students for highly paid careers in professional accountancy, budget analysis, auditing, or fiscal analysis in the private or public sectors.
Students who enter this program have already completed some college-level work and are prepared to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Students who complete the BS in Accounting program are fully qualified for a professional accounting career, and will be better qualified to sit for the CPA exam. The School of Management’s accounting degree curriculum is fully registered with the Division of Professional Education of the New York State Education Department. Additional coursework may be necessary to meet the requirements for CPA licensure.
