Career Planning Center, Troy

The Career Planning Office provides graduate assistants with an opportunity to work with Center staff to meet the career development needs of Sage students. Graduate Assistants report to the Associate Director of Career Planning and typically are scheduled to work an average of 10 hours per week. This position offers flexibility with the understanding that there will be adjustments for academic commitments, as approved. All requests to adjust the regular work schedule must be submitted in advance and put in writing. All agreed upon hours must be met with an emphasis on punctuality and full completion of shift.
-Career Appointments: Assist students with beginning resume and cover letter writing, mock interviews, and searching for internships and jobs.
-Social Media and Marketing: Assist with and plan social media posts on a regular basis to increase knowledge of events, programs, job/internship openings, tips, and more. In addition to social media posts, the Graduate Assistants will be responsible for assisting in the creation of marketing flyers and posters.
-Walk-in Wednesdays: Provide one on one support to students, alumni, faculty and staff members that wish to revise career documents, search for jobs/internships/volunteer opportunities/ graduate school, and more
-Special Events: Coordinate and assist in special event development, planning and implementation; market events to students on Facebook and on campus through flyers and advertisements
-Career Closet: Assist with the logging and organization of the Career Closet
-Office Assistance: Provide assistance to office staff on special projects such as research on current trends, presentation and workshop help and development, and website updates
-Other duties as assigned
