Recreation and Fitness, Troy

Assist with the hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of recreation and fitness staff. Develop, promote and implement mini-fitness center classes and supervise fitness center staff with the running of the classes. Monitor usage numbers of recreation facilities. Promote programs of Recreation and Fitness Department. Other duties as assigned by Director of Recreation and Fitness, TSC.

Individual in this position should be able to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the recruitment, hiring and training of the fitness center staff

• Assist with the recruitment, hiring and training of the Troy open gym staff

• Schedule and run monthly staff meetings/trainings

• Oversee and turn in payroll sheets on or before the due date

• Bi-weekly meetings with Supervisor

• Manage check-in system and problem solve issues that arrive

• Enforce all policies of the fitness center

• Run weekly fitness center mini classes

• Maintain fitness center bulletin boards

• Provide weekly reports on fitness center usage participation

• Assist with preventative maintenance of fitness center equipment

• Provide assistance and support to other Recreation and Fitness Graduate Assistants as needed

• Attendance at special college events (Sage Olympics, Open Houses, Intro to Sage Days, Earth Day, Activities Fair, Sagefest, etc)

Recreation and Fitness Department

Plan, organize and implement intramural competition. Assist with the hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of recreation and fitness staff. Develop, promote and implement weekend recreation tournaments and supervise recreation staff with the running of the events. Monitor usage numbers of recreation facilities. Promote programs of Recreation and Fitness Department. Other duties as assigned by Director of Recreation and Fitness, TSC

• Assist with the recruitment, hiring and training of the intramural staff

• Schedule and run monthly staff meetings/trainings

• Oversee and turn in payroll sheets on or before the due date for intramural staff

• Bi-weekly meetings with Supervisor

• Manage check-in system for intramurals and problem solve issues that arrive

• Enforce all policies of open gyms and intramurals

• Manage IMLeagues account

• Maintain recreation bulletin boards

• Work closely with captains of intramural teams

• Provide weekly reports on intramural participation

• Maintenance and inventory of recreation equipment

• Provide assistance and support to other Recreation and Fitness Graduate Assistants as needed

• Attendance at special college events (Sage Olympics, Open Houses, Intro to Sage Days, Earth Day, Activities Fair, Sagefest, etc)

Group Fitness Graduate Assistant

Recreation and Fitness Department

Assist with the hiring, and scheduling of group fitness instructors. Develop a diverse schedule across both campuses and promote group fitness classes. Monitor participation numbers of classes. Maintain the recreation and fitness page on Sage Loop as well as manage the recreation and fitness Twitter account. Other duties as assigned by Director of Recreation and Fitness, TSC.

• Oversee paperwork for group fitness instructors

• Teach a group fitness class

• Bi-weekly meetings with Supervisor

• Manage check-in system for group fitness classes

• Enforce all policies of the recreation and fitness department

• Manage the Twitter account for Recreation and Fitness

• Manage the Recreation and Fitness page on Sage Loop

• Assist with the development, implementation and review of recreation and fitness surveys

• Provide assistance and support to other Recreation and Fitness Graduate Assistants as needed
