Sage 5K and SageFest
Saturday, September 24th

Join us as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 1916 founding of Russell Sage College with a Centennial 5K! The race route will wind through beautiful, historic downtown Troy, NY. The starting line is on First Street, south of Congress Street on the Russell Sage College campus. Plan on staying after the race for SageFest, featuring live entertainment, street vendors, fun and games! You can also make a donation during registration to the Sage Centennial Campaign.

8:00 – 9:30 A.M. – Sign in and packet pick-up
10:00 A.M. – 5K run/walk

The Women of Influence Tour Continues…
Tour of Val-Kill, the home of Eleanor Roosevelt
Wednesday October 5th
Cost per person $30.00.

Join us on for a tour of Val Kill, the home of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, and its surrounding property of 181 acres. We are thrilled to have Kathleen Donnelly author of “Women of Influence- Honorary Alumnae of Russell Sage College,” joining us on this trip. Dr. Donnelly will share her research about Eleanor Roosevelt and some related documents from the Russell Sage archives. The former NY State First Lady and United Sates First Lady received an honorary degree from Russell Sage in 1929. As an honorary alumna, Mrs Roosevelt continued her association with Russell Sage for many years.

The bus will depart the Sage College of Albany at 8:00 a.m. Following our 10:00 a.m. tour we’ll enjoy lunch at Coppola’s Restaurant.

Over the past year, Artist in Residence Leigh Strimbeck, along with theater majors Kaleigh Cerqua and Kadee McTeigue have been developing a theater piece on the 100 year history of Russell Sage College. The play, Directed by David Baecker now titled “Yours,” has been taken directly from past students’ writing, mainly The Quill. The performance will exemplify and dramatize how women’s voices evolve while at Russell Sage as well as how they have evolved throughout the past century. This is not only the writers’ story, it is yours!

Lewis Carroll’s unflappable young heroine takes a tumble down an enchanted rabbit hole to an off-kilter world of mock turtles, dancing flora, punctual rabbits, and mad tea parties. Whimsy and wordplay are the order of the day in this imaginative musical adaptation of a family favorite!
