Environmental Toxicology: A Key to Green Chemistry

Michael Gallo, Ph.D.

A graduate of Sage Evening College, Michael Gallo, Ph.D. is a renowned toxicologist, professor emeritus of environmental and occupational medicine at Rutgers University’s Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and an investigator with Rutgers’ CounterACT Research Center, which designs therapies to respond to chemical terrorism.

Gallo will present recent studies of the toxic effects of perfluorinated chemicals (PFOA, PFOS and PFAA) on sentinel species (“canary in the coal mine” models for human health and environmental wellbeing). A few cases will be presented and a brisk discussion will be encouraged.
