Iris Cushing

Irish Cushing

Iris Cushing is the author of Wyoming (Furniture Press Books, 2014). Her poems have appeared in Fence, the Boston Review and the Academy of American Poets Poem-A-Day series.

A founding editor for Argos Books, Iris recently edited Bobbie Louise Hawkins: The Sounding Word and Judy Grahn: Selections from Blood, Bread and Roses for Lost & Found: The CUNY Poetics Document Initiative.

She is currently working on a dissertation about Diane di Prima and radical pedagogy for her Ph.D in English at the CUNY Graduate Center. Iris teaches at Queens College and lives in New Kingston, New York.

Travis Macdonald

Travis Macdonald

Travis Macdonald is the author of two full-length books of procedural poetry – The O Mission Repo [vol.1] (an erasure of The 9/11 Commission Report) and N7ostradamus (an Oulipian treatment of Nostradamus’ quatrains) – as well as several chapbooks.

In his spare time, he co-edits Fact-Simile Editions with his wife JenMarie. In 2014, Travis was the recipient of a Pew Fellowship in the Arts. He is happy to be here with you.

About The REV Presents

“The REV Presents” runs in conjunction with the Fall 2017 English and Modern Languages courses (in Creative Writing and Protest Literature) and explores the theme of “truth to power.”

The events are co-sponsored by The Russell Sage Review (The REV), the department of Arts & Letters, and The Sage Colleges Libraries, and supported by the Carol Ann Donahue Poetry Fund.
