The Louis and Hortense Rubin Community Fellows Program has granted more than $500,000 to community nonprofits and agencies since it was established in 1990. The 2017-2018 Rubin Fellows were the City of Troy and the YWCA of the Greater Capital Region. The City of Troy received support to create a Youth Recreation Master Plan, to include programs and assets of the City and its recreation partners including the YMCA and Boys & Girls Club. The YWCA-GCR received support for a collaboration between the YWCA’s Jamison-Rounds Ready for Work Program and Emma Willard School’s Signature Program, to assist Ready for Work program graduates with developing a three-month personal project and seeing it through to fruition.
