The Sage Colleges is set to welcome thousands of visitors to The Armory at Sage College of Albany for the 2017 Freihofer’s Health & Fitness Expo. The free event, to be held Thurs. June 1 and Fri., June 2, will not only serve as the site for the t-shirt and bib pickup, but will also offer an array of family-friendly health and fitness activities.
As the host site, The Sage Colleges will play a prominent role in the two-day event. Nursing students will be on hand to offer blood pressure screenings, while nutrition students will give a presentation and provide attendees with healthy food samples. The Sage Colleges staff will also be available to discuss the college’s bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs, as well as adult education and online offerings.
“We look forward to welcoming thousands of runners and community members to The Armory at Sage for Freihofer’s Health & Fitness Expo,” said Susan C. Scrimshaw, Ph.D., president of The Sage Colleges. “Sage is a leader in the education of health professionals and we are pleased to be a community event partner to promote health and wellness.”
“This year’s event aims to provide runners and Capital Region residents with access to comprehensive health/fitness and wellness information, products and services,” said Freihofer’s Run for Women Co-Director Kristen Hislop, noting that The Armory at Sage College of Albany offers ample parking. “Exhibitors will showcase the latest in health and fitness. We’ll also have clinics, sports demonstrations, massage therapy, food vendors, and so much more! Best of all the expo is free and open to the public!”
