24 Hours of Reality: The Dirty Weather Report is designed to convene a number of the world’s leading scientists, policy-makers, thought leaders, entertainers, business leaders, humanitarians, philanthropists and activists.  The 2011 inaugural 24 Hours of Reality webcast garnered more than 8 million online viewers and generated more than 90 million Twitter impressions.  This year’s global webcast is once again designed to build global-consensus that climate change is happening now and that urgent action is required immediately.

The Dirty Weather Report will be live streamed at The Sage Colleges Buchman Pavilion, Troy campus, November 14-15 from 8:00pm -8:00pm and will feature films, activities and refreshments.  The event is free and open to the public.

Taking place over 24 hours, this event will put a spotlight on every region of the globe, featuring news, voices, and multimedia content across all 24 time zones.  Each hour will highlight actions that are presently underway to address the climate crisis.  Former U.S. Vice President and Climate Reality Founder and Chairman, Al Gore, will provide keynote participation.  Scores of the world’s most prominent experts on climate change will speak about the connection between climate change, dirty weather and dirty energy.

Sage’s Professor Leibo has been invited to participate as a panelist in the 12th hour to speak about climate change in China from 7:00am – 8:00 am EST.  His participation will be integrated into the 24 hour global conversation.

Dr. Leibo was one of the 1,000 Americans chosen to participate in former Vice President and Nobel Laureate Al Gore's Climate Project.  He was personally trained by Gore to provide updated versions of the slideshow featured in the Academy Award-winning film An Inconvenient Truth. He also serves as a District Manager for TCP.  Leibo, an author and documentary filmmaker, is a frequent commentator and international political analyst for local television, radio and newspapers.
