About Peter Fabrykiewicz

For Peter Fabrykiewicz ’16, enrolling at Sage was one of those cases where the third time really is the charm.

You see, Peter had already attended SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Delhi before he arrived at Sage, and at both those other schools he just hadn’t been able to get on track.

“But Sage was different,” he says. “The professors, the coaches, they just went above and beyond to make sure I was doing well.”

He says bigger colleges might be right for some students, but he discovered the small college experience changed everything for him.

“Sage is so inclusive,” he says. “The professors even show up for your soccer games.”

As a result, Peter says, he matured and grew. “I learned how to better myself.”

He also had the time of his life.

“I played on the soccer team and loved it,” he says. “I’d been playing soccer since I was four years old, but my years of playing at Sage were my two favorite years.”

Peter majored in Business Administration and says he got what felt like a real insider’s view of what a career in business would be like. He learned to write business plans, for example, and through time spent at a business incubator he got to see up close what business ideas have real promise.

But what proved of most lasting value, he says, was the way he was shown how to be professional in the way he approached his life and the pursuit of his goals.

Today, Peter is working for Tesla, as a sales manager in Denver. He loves the job. He says so much of what he learned at Sage in the Business Administration program has had real application to what he’s doing.

To anyone thinking about studying business at Sage, he says: “Take all the advice you can. It really will help you to get where you want to go.”

“Sage is so inclusive. The professors even show up for your soccer games.”
