SCA Dean Sarolta Takács elected president of the oldest classical association in the U.S.
Sarolta A. Takács, dean of Sage College of Albany and professor of history, was elected president of the Classical Association of the Atlantic States (CAAS). The Classical Association was founded in 1907 and is one of the oldest classical associations in the United States.
The goals of the association are to strengthen teaching and research as well as foster public support for the languages, civilizations, and cultures of ancient Greece and Rome in the mid-Atlantic region (Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania). In furtherance of its mission, the Classical Association publishes a quarterly peer-reviewed journal, the Classical World.
